Qui-sommes-nous ?
Founded in 1990, our School serves the international community, with the main language of instruction being English. Classes are taught in English by native English teachers, with the exception of two half days a week of instruction in French for primary children.
Our program is grounded in principles of child development and learning and is centered around the various needs, interests, and learning styles of children.
The curriculum followed at MIS incorporates the attainment targets set out by the British National Curriculum, the French pedagogic directives and American guidelines in order to ensure that when your child eventually leaves us to enter another school, he/she will have reached the appropriate level of achievement. In our preschool and nursery classes, the teaching is strongly based in the Montessori approach.
Apart from the main curriculum subjects, children also have music, sports, library time and IT (from age 5). Many of the curriculum subjects will be taught through topic work so that the separate subjects may easily be distinguished. However, the teacher will have planned the balance of the curriculum to ensure that sufficient time is allocated to each activity to offer a worthwhile learning experience.
